The Economy Through My Eyes
200+ Positions applied for.
14 Interviews.
4 Second interviews.
1 Temporary, Seasonal job offered.
0 Permanent jobs offered.
There's nothing quite like graduating during a bad economic recession. These last few months have certainly built character.

Maybe it's just the rain getting to me, but I wanted to see if I could take a mediocre picture into Adobe Lightroom and see how I could change it to make the picture work. I think this works well, with a grainy "comic book" look. Hope you enjoy!

Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Radio Lab: New Normal - Stu Rasmussen
I don't know how many of you listen to the NPR radio show Radio Lab on a regular basis, but while I was running today I heard this story and it really captured my attention.
Stu Rasmussen, of Silverton, Oregon, is an avid metalworker, woodworker, and electrician - and in 2008 became our country's first transgendered mayor. News of his election swept the country, but what was it like at home?

Tough Twinkie Luck

NEW YORK - OCTOBER 09: Melky Cabrera(notes) #53 of the New York Yankees fails to make a play on a ball that lands fair but is called foul by umpire Phil Cuzzi against the Minnesota Twins in Game Two of the ALDS during the 2009 MLB Playoffs at Yankee Stadium on October 9, 2009 in the Bronx borough of New York City. Twins lost a heart breaker today. We beat ourselves by failing to take advantage of a few opportunities to score, but this blown call didn't help our situation.
